Our truck is a 2006 Ford F150 4x4 with a 5.4L Triton Flex Fuel engine. The way we figure, why get a new truck when our older truck still looks almost like new and runs great! AMSOIL synthetic motor oils, transmission oil and gear lubes can keep the wear of the engine, transmission and gear components to a minimum. We believe use of AMSOIL products in our truck has helped to extend its’ life and maintain the efficiency of the’ engine. ; In this truck we use: ; AMSOIL 5W-20 XL Extended Life Synthetic Motor Oil (XLM). It is rated for 10,000 miles or 6-months (or longer using oil electronic life monitoring technology or as recommended in your owner’s manual). ; We only have to change our oil two times a year saving us time and definitely saving us money by not changing our oil every 3,000 miles or 3-months that most dealers recommend. AMSOIL 5W-20 XL is also formulated with extended drain boost technology to provide better wear control, high and low temperature protection and increased fuel economy. AMSOIL EA Oil Filter (EAO11). We change out the oil filter every oil change. AMSOIL Inc. recommends you change the aftermarket, original equipment manufacturer or the AMSOIL EAO oil filter at every oil change. We use the EAO Oil Filter because it is designed to hold and trap a greater amount of smaller wear causing particles. The filter is designed for extended service while helping reduce wear to the engine. In fact the filtering efficiency is 98.7 percent at 20 microns. Other competitive oil filters have demonstrated efficiencies as low as 51 percent. The service life of an EAO filter is 25,000 miles or 1-year, in severe service operation 15,000 miles or 1-year. The EAO15K filter service life is 15,000 miles or 1-year. All service life is whichever comes first. AMSOIL Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). This transmission fluid is engineered to outperform conventional automatic transmission fluid and exceed the performance requirements of most North America, European and Asian vehicles and provides outstanding severe service operation protection. Whether it’s hot or cold out, your transmission gets very hot. If your transmission fluid fails, your transmission; fails it’s as simple as that. AMSOIL builds their transmission fluid to handle the high heat temperature and when you use it, you won’t experience slip and heat failure so you can be confident your transmission is protected. We use this in our transmission and transfer case. AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 (SVO) Synthetic EP Lubricant (in the rear differential) and AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 (SVG) Synthetic EP Lubricant (in the front differential). AMSOIL Severe Gear provides performance beyond that possible of conventional gear oils. The performance features include: superior film strength, controls thermal runaway, rust and corrosion protection, helps reduce operating temperatures, provides maximum efficiency and long oil, seal and equipment life. AMSOIL Low Toxicity, Antifreeze and Engine Coolant (ANT) is designed to perform far beyond that of other conventional antifreeze and coolant products. AMSOIL’s formulation provides maximum antifreeze and cooling protection in extreme temperatures and operating conditions. AMSOIL’s coolant is formulated with propylene glycol which makes it biodegradable and its low toxicity limits the threat to children, pets and wildlife. AMSOIL coolant also self-seals hairline cracks in welds and seams to help prevent leaks without having to use other aftermarket products. The service life is up to 7 years or 250,000 miles in passenger cars, light-duty truck, vans and recreational vehicles. ; It is also good for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and closed marine application.
